A Gift of Your Time is Invaluable
Volunteers play a critical role in the success of LAYN’s work. Volunteers help us to provide role models for our youth, put on events, clean up our facilities, prepare meals, fundraise, and complete administrative tasks. We truly couldn’t function without our volunteers.
If you’d like to volunteer on your own, a tutor match or a mentorship may be a great opportunity for you. If you’d rather make it a social activity with your circle of friends or colleagues, consider a day of service, hosting an event or a drive, or helping out at an event.
LAYN is looking for volunteers who are:
- Passionate-willing to learn and care for the youth we serve.
- Qualified-a clean LiveScan background check and negative TB test results are required.
- Over the age of 18 unless completing administrative tasks.
- Able to attend a Volunteer Information Session.
Interested in volunteering with Los Angeles Youth Network? Attending the orientation is the first critical step in the volunteer process and it will give you a chance to really experience what the Los Angeles Youth Network is all about. During the orientation we will discuss available opportunities, as well as additional details and program requirements. Join us!
Volunteering Legal Requirements: California law requires that all volunteers who will work one-on-one with youth must be over 18 and are required to be fingerprinted and undergo a criminal background check through LifeScan.
Next Volunteer Orientation
Check back in early December for the next volunteer orientation.
