Demonstrate Support of Homeless Youth in a Variety of Ways

Host a House Party

Hosting a house party is an excellent opportunity to meet interesting people who share your concern for supporting the youth LAYN serves. They're also a great way to raise awareness and to introduce new people to LAYN.

We’ll provide you with all of the tools and resources you’ll need to host or co-host a party with community members, professionals in your field, or just your friends. We’ll work with you to make sure your event is a success. To get started, here are some ideas from past donors:

  • A Friendship Party: Every guest is responsible for bringing at least one new person to learn about LAYN. Whenever possible, we’ll work with you to provide a staff or volunteer guest speaker.
  • A Birthday Party:  In lieu of gifts, donations are made to LAYN.
  • A Happy Hour Reception:  If you own or have access to donated space at a restaurant, this can be a great way to share yummy hors d'ouevres, drinks, quality time with friends, and information about LAYN.
  • An Intimate Gathering: Like to cook? Get a group of friends together, serve a great meal and simply ask guests to donate what they normally would pay for a meal at a restaurant.

Employee and Corporate Giving

Companies and employers often demonstrate a commitment to the greater community. Find out whether your office will contribute a matching gift or whether your HR Department can set up an ongoing payroll deduction for you and/or others. See if you can gather colleagues together for a day of volunteering or a donation drive, or sponsor an event sponsorship.

Honorary Gifts

Consider a gift in honor of a loved one. These tributes can be made in honor of someone you care for and announced to recipients through a card from LAYN. Alternatively, they can serve to memorialize someone who has passed away.

Donations of Tangible Items

In-kind donations of items such as hygiene products, clothing, and school supplies can go a long way in supporting the youth LAYN serves. They also provide cost savings for the agency and allow us to focus on other ways of serving LAYN youth. Find out what we currently needand how you can help.
